Strawberry tart

08 May

The season of strawberries has started so use the opportunity to make delicious deserts and drinks. I made yesterday this tasty tart and now it's almost gone 😀

Here is the recipe:
Ingredients for crust(pâte sucrée):

  • 300g white flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 100g butter
  • 1 egg whisked
  • 1 or 2 tbsp cold water(if necessary)

Mix the all ingredients and leave the dough in the fridge to cool for 30 minutes. Meanwhile you will make the cream.
Ingredients for pastry cream:

  • 350 ml milk
  • 200 ml heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 8 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp vanilla

Pour the milk and the heavy cream in the bowl and put it to boil. Meantime beat the eggs and mix them with sugar and cornstarch. Add this mixture to the milk that just started to boil and mix constantly. When the cream becomes dense it's ready. Remove it from the stove and add the vanilla essence. Leave the cream to cool.

Meanwhile, take out the dough, put it in a round mold, shaping the future crust walls. Put it to bake for 30 minutes. Wait for everything to cool, then pour the cream over the crust and decorate with the sliced strawberries.
