A friend

07 Jul

I know this girl since the elementary school, but we spent more time while traveling together by bus when going to high school, and we got to know each other more. We found some things in common to share, though we have different characters. When dealing with some problems I tried to solve them alone, or carefully choosing with whom I share. I changed since then.. Now I am more open with people and communicate more easily than before. She is more communicative than me, has more friends, is more adventurous.

This girl stayed in my fond memories. I had found her recently on FB, and sent her a message. She asked me how am I, mentioning how it is nice to get in contact again. I was happy and answered her, but since then it's been one month and no reply from her. Is it because people change during the years or she didn't care that much like I cared for her. I dreamed her last night. We met and warmly hugged and smiled, but while walking on the road she departed a few meters in front of me. I thought that's sad I just wanted to talk with her.

🙂 Mira … yes, people change … and we change … often in not predictable ways, I think … surprising others with the ways we change and being surprised by others … and yet it's kind of sad and we feel hurt if we get to realize this … sometimes getting in contact again, after a long time, there are high expectations … who could avoid this … but I think the most difficult in life is trying to accept this constant change that we are going through … I hardly talk to friends from long time ago … I realized that there's nothing left to say … they have changed, I have changed … even if we are still living in the same small town …and in a way I'm glad that I've changed the way I did … I found so many more friends … online and in the so called real life … I wouldn't have changed this way if our ways wouldn'zt have been different. the more I change the harder it gets just to accept that sometimes memories will always only be memories

Mira, I have talked to some of my old friends on FB too. I was not so populer girl among my friends and I did not know them well. They look different from the ones I used to know and they are different. Some are more friendlier and more curious about me. I have not seen them for more than 15 years. And I have changed myself because of the time and life I have gone through. I am happy with what I am now.I think your dreams telling about your thought. You might be thinking that she is not happy now and you are worried a little about her. I hope She will answer your message soon…

It could be a millions of reasons: maybe her job is preventing her from going on line too often; maybe she has "real life" more developed than this one, on line; maybe she has a family to think about, maybe she has left to summer vacation; maybe…People change in time and she may be a bit different person than you remember – but it doesn`t necessarilly means a bad change 🙂

Maybe she just doesn't feel like being friends with you on FB….I mean some of my friends in real life doesn't like to chat or even write anything on FB they prefer real life…Even I never go on line on FB chat I prefer talking with my friends face to face….As for your case exactly…It happened to me too,one my good friends from times of elementary school which i fount on FB asked me something like what is new and similar and when i answered and asked her the same she never answered…Guess she enjoys different company now, guess she changed for those 3 years, I mean I changed a lot too…

Mirau don't know here circumstances , let's suppose that she changed ,all of us change some times to a degree that we can't know our selves , no one can't deny that so take it easy , it happens

Friends, thank you all for your kind comments @Dirk- I agree, we change, people change. For example, I spent a lot of time when I was a kid with my two cousins, playing, talking. But we grew up in so different ways, had different education, different life style.. Once they came to visit us and we realized how much we have changed, we hardly could find some topic to talk about 🙂 @Teresia- I wasn't popular too, I was too shy 🙂 That's nice that you met your friends after a long time. Hope you will stay in contact with them.@Darko- It could be some of these reasons.:) One thing I know she is active on FB. @Gyng- I understand your point, it's better to communicate face to face, just we are living far from each other. And you have changed in a good way :)@Rania- I agree :). Will be patient and wait.

I'd love to have you on FB! one issue for us is since there is more familiarity and trust built for some friendships and their depth… as well, some I have met in person and some not. some long time friends, etc., Joe asked me to keep some things I share more private than I am at times- so I have changed some settings to those mostly I know "in person" or family members, than online people I know only through blogs, photography, music… etc., but I enjoy FB as a bulletin board of sorts.but, you knew her before growing up- you never know how or why things change, but Darko's perspective is practical and helpful. I feel badly that you feel bad. take cheer, you are a sweet and kind dearheart, Mira.

What to say that isn't already said here. Conclusion is that as times are changing, everything else is changing. Something for the worst, something for the better.Don't be said about this situation. People who want to be and are your real friends will be around you. As I say, it is better to have a few, but really good friends, then bunch of people who you just call "friends".
