Have you tried maple syrup?

24 Mar

When I was searching for some recipes on the Internet, I often found they are made with maple syrup. I became curious to try it too. In one food market nearby they are selling it but it's way to expensive. The other day I got my package of two bottles of maple syrup, directly from the USA.
I'm very grateful
Maple syrup is a sweetener made from the sap of some maple trees. In cold climate areas, these trees store sugar in their roots before the winter and the sap which rises in the spring can be tapped and concentrated. Maple syrup is most often eaten with waffles, pancakes, oatmeal, crumpets or French toast. I will try it with muffins too. Native Americans were the first people known to have produced maple syrup. Now I am aware of its caloric value so I will use it moderately 😉

I am sooo glad you have some! it is a staple in our home. the kids eat it regularly (me, too!) on pancakes, french toast (definitely serve with some type of meat, i.e., bacon or sauteed turkey slices, sausage)… I put it on oatmeal- anywhere that I can taste it without it being eclipsed by other flavours. I've not cooked much with it (in baking) for that reason. however, it is good to drizzle over salmon, for example, before broiling or grilling (maybe with a little mustard or soy sauce, too)… enjoy!

@Darko- I ate some yesterday mmm..wonderful taste. We put it over the waffles. The taste reminds me a little bit of caramel, and a bit fruity,.. I like its density 😀 @Aadil- What I found here is some organic maple syrup, pretty expensive, like everything organic 😀 I read about Golden Syrup on Wikipedia.@Cheesey Bite- Welcome to my blog 🙂 I'm enjoying it sinfully 😉 @Jill- I didn't know you can serve it with some type of meat or salmon. This is quite new to me. Recently I found you can cook oatmeal with milk. Would be nice to put maple syrup on it. Originally posted by studio41:
