Mira’s apple muffins

03 Feb

Since my first attempt of cooking in a silicone mold was successful (I made vanilla and chocolate chip muffins), now it's time to try more muffin recipes.

Muffins don't have a place in the Serbian nor the Romanian traditional kitchen. The first time I heard of them was while watching Desperate Housewives (ah..can't wait for Season VI ) Guess I'm in some muffins phase.

So after I decided which muffins to make this time, I turned on some music to play and combined the ingredients for the apple muffins. They are low in sugar, but you can adjusted it to your taste.

  • 1 cup = 250 ml
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 tbs. baking powder
  • 1 tbs. baking soda
  • 1 tbs. cinnamon
  • 1/3 cups of brown sugar
  • 1,5 cup apple (peeled and cut into cubes)
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 250 ml milk
  • 2 spoons of melted butter

Stir the flour with baking powder, soda, cinnamon, add sugar and apples and mix it. Then add the beaten egg, milk and butter into the flour mixture and stir it until it becomes homogeneous. Fill the moldand bake them in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 25 minutes.

And this is the muffin upside down:
