Merry Christmas

06 Jan

Tomorrow most of the Serbians and other Christians who follow the Julian calendar celebrate Christmas; for them, today is Christmas Eve. I will try tomorrow to make a traditional Christmas cake, named česnica.
I wish a Merry Christmas! to all my friends who celebrate it tomorrow. Wish you all happiness, health, peace.

Hvala, takodje :DDo people in Romania follow Julian or Gregorian calendar? Do they celebrate Christmass similar to what is usual for Serbia?

I'm fine, Mira. Here, no snow, too (we had it only last week) and it lasted only two days. It is raining here, better to say pouring. I'll mail you soon. 🙂

Romanians follow the Gregorian calendar. Christmas in Romania is celebrated quite similarly to the western way. For example, everyone in the family gets a present from under the Christmas tree; on the contrary, in Serbia only the položajnik (however many they are) get presents. Also in Serbia, there are customs involving česnica, badnjak,…

today, Mira, there was still a bit left where if the sun had been warmer, it would have all melted away-… we've had some warmth, but when I'd posted the above pic, yes, indeed! we did have the white stuff. sorry took so long to get back to this.
